There’s no setting quite as romantic as your own private cabin. If you’re spending Valentine’s Day in your cabin with your beau, you might be wondering what to eat. We’ve put together a delicious three course meal that you can both enjoy, with no oven needed. You can easily make these dishes on a burner with minimal equipment, so even if you have a tiny cabin with limited facilities, you’ll still be able to enjoy some delicious food!

Starter

Red Pepper, Sweet Potato and Paprika Soup

Most places in the country are still chilly in February, so what better starter than this warming soup? All you need to do is boil the red pepper, sweet potato, and some onion, garlic and chilli with stock for around 45 minutes, and then add paprika, salt and pepper before blending to a smooth consistency. It’s incredibly easy to make and very warming. 

Main Course

Risotto with Seasonal Ingredients

Risottos are wonderfully versatile courses that you can always make with seasonal and local ingredients. Your best ingredients will depend on where in the country you are based. If you live by the sea, you may like to make a seafood risotto, or if you are in the country’s interior, perhaps a risotto with local mushrooms, or even game that you have hunted? 

Dessert

Vanilla Cheesecake with Raspberry Coulis

Cheesecakes don’t always have to be baked; simply create the mixture (you will need a whisk to reach the desired consistency), add it to the biscuit base, and chill in the fridge. Add some raspberry coulis to the top to give another flavor – you could even pour it in the shape of a heart to keep with the Valentine’s theme!

This easy yet romantic Valentine’s meal is simple to prepare at a cabin, and will give you top marks as chef!
