Decorating a Cabin Hallway

Log Cabin Hallway

If you own a cabin, one of the most important areas to decorate is the hallway. This area sees a lot of traffic, and it’s often overlooked when compared to other rooms like the bedroom, lounge or kitchen. Here are some things to consider when decorating your log cabin hallway!

Lighting

Choose fairly bright lighting, but you don’t want it to be too harsh. You also want to make sure that you avoid lighting that’s installed in the centre of the hallway and it is dispersed throughout the area, with lights at the start, middle and end.

For example, you could have spotlights in the ceiling, but it’s a good idea to add a dimmer switch so you can turn down the brightness if desired.

Pictures

You could add one or two pictures to your hallway, although you don’t want the walls to feel too cluttered. Just select a couple of landscape or portrait pictures that you can hang on your wall. Make sure that they complement each other well and suit the rest of the decoration in the hallway and the cabin as a whole.

Furniture

You won’t want much furniture in your log cabin hallway; there’s no need for chairs or anything else cluttering the space. If you have the room, just opt for a small dresser or table where you can place pictures and objects.

Choose a wood style that compliments the walls in your cabin, such as a slightly darker shade to the walls. Also, make sure the table isn’t huge – you don’t want it to occupy the entire hallway area!

Plants

As well as furniture, you could also accommodate some plants. Choose tall plants rather than wide plants that use floor space. Plants can bring the outdoors indoors, making the nature connection to your cabin even more apparent!
