“My husband and I always dreamed of owning mountain property with a cabin. Well our dream became a reality and we are the proud owners of a cabin in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. From the first showing we knew this cabin could be everything we dreamed after a few improvements. When you say “cabin” the first thing that comes to mind is log walls, which our cabin did not have when we purchased it. After researching options available to us for log walls I came across TruLog and loved the idea of the log look without the hassle of taking care of it. I set up my meeting with the board and Ted made sure I had all the information and samples ready for my presentation, I have to admit I was so nervous that they were going to deny our request as it specifically said in the covenants “NO METAL SIDING” and I couldn’t picture anything else on our cabin, it had to be TruLog. After my 30 minute presentation and requesting permission to put TruLog on our cabin the board was truly impressed with the product and started telling me what colors they would do if they were to put it on their cabin. I walked out of that meeting and called Ted immediately and said “how soon can you get started”? We couldn’t be happier with our decision to install TruLog siding. “We were looking for a log siding that had a real log appearance, maintenance free and affordable and almost given up. But then we ran across the TruLog product. I contacted Ted and he sent a few siding samples. The TruLog product is truly unique with the hewn log appearance in a durable painted steel. We placed an order with Ted he was very helpful to get all the correct materials to make the job complete. He offered to ship the siding, but we decided to make a weekend get away and take the family to Denver to pick it up. We installed the siding ourselves and it is pretty straight forward if you have basic carpentry skills. “I was looking for siding that would be easy for an old man (76 years old) to install and found Ted’s TruLog siding while surfing the internet. I Got Ted on the phone and gave him the dimensions of my house and he set up an order for me and shipped it right to my door! The siding was easy to install and Ted gave me some tips to make it even easier. I purchased a good metal cutting saw blade from Lowes and used my Craftsman radial arm saw for most of my cuts, it worked great. I finished the job by myself. The insulation that comes with the siding makes a big difference in our heating of the house. My wife said to tell you that she heats the house in the morning and turns the heat off and it stays warm all day. It makes me feel good to know that I’ll never have to paint the house again and it looks great!”
