It’s About The Destination: Vacation Off The Beaten Path

appalachian mountains photo Colorado is a hot destination! It’s no surprise, especially considering our national parks, our gorgeous wilderness, the countless outdoor adventures just waiting to be discovered…

But with our countless attractions, it can be easy to forget how many other beautiful destinations there are in the US! That’s why the crew here at Tru Log has taken it upon ourselves to put together a few great destinations across the country for some wonderful log cabin vacations. These places have it all– wilderness, adventure, and (best of all) some great log cabins!

The Wisconsin Dells on the Wisconsin River

Although it may be known for its moniker, “The Waterpark Capital of the World” (according to the city’s website) the Wisconsin Dells’ true attraction is the miles and miles of sandstone canyons and deep green wilderness that give the city its name. Already a famous tourist destination in the Midwest, the Dells are a world-class attraction!

No matter if you prefer spending time on the river or hiking through the wilds, there’s something for everyone in the Wisconsin Dells. Even if you prefer the city life, there’s plenty to do– from theme parks to breweries and wineries, the Dells have it all!

Asheville, North Carolina

If you’re looking for a destination that combines beauty, wilderness, and old-time style, then look no further than Asheville. Known locally as the home of both the historic Biltmore Estate as well as some of the best food south of the Mason-Dixon line, Asheville is a great vacation spot for everyone.

This hidden gem may not be the first place you think of for a vacation, but it might have to move up the list when you see what the gorgeous Appalachian mountains have to offer. Not only that, but Asheville is home to a thriving music and culinary scene! No matter what you’re looking for in a vacation, look no further than Asheville.

New Mexico’s Rocky Mountains

Right next door to our very own best spots, New Mexico shares many of the same great attractions without the same hustle and bustle of the Colorado resort towns. Places like Ruidoso in the Sierra Blanca mountain range offer that wonderful small town feel side-by-side with attractions like Ski Apache ski area and the Lincoln National Forest.

Of course, as Coloradans, we have to pull for the home-team. But if you’re looking for a change of pace, or for something that may be a little closer to home, then take a look at these wonderful locations! And, of course, no matter where your log cabin may be, take a look at how to keep it in tip-top shape with our Tru Log steel siding.
